Rafferty Farms is a vertical aquaponics farm near Okotoks, AB started by James Rafferty. Rafferty farms is an aquaponics, it is a soil-less, closed-loop, growing concept that utilizes important microorganisms to convert waste from their fish into vital nutrients for our plants, which detoxify the water before it returns to our fish. Their unique system saves freshwater, incorporates sustainable technology, and does not expose your food to synthetic fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides. This means better tasting, healthier, and safer food for you and your loved ones!
Rafferty Farms goal is to create an off-grid, sustainable aquaponic greenhouse in the years to come. They currently use wind, solar, and solar thermal to supply parts of their operation. Their packages that their product comes in are re-usable.
Great for drinks and culinary, our variety of spearmint has a pleasantly sweet flavor that is perfect for cooking and deserts. The leaves dry well, but when used fresh they make a nice tea or an even nicer mojito! Like Rafferty's basil it is grown in their aquaponic system without the use of any synthetic fertilizers or pesticides. Available in 28g (1oz) retail packs or 100g (3.5oz) bags for restaurants.
