Our 40,000 sq. ft. hydroponic vertical farm is located in Leduc, AB. Here we nurture and harvest fresh leafy greens, microgreens, and herbs 365 days a year. Our produce is non-GMO, pesticide, herbicide, and insect free, grown in an ideal environment for the plant and your health. This ensures what we put on your table is of the highest quality, fresh & nutritious.
Our facilities and farm are only a few kilometres away (yes, really!), so you can access a year-round supply of the freshest greens, support your local community, and help reduce carbon emissions. Our products are harvested in a juvenile state prior to the conversion of nutrients and minerals to seed which ensures nutrient-rich taste & a freshness unlike out of country or province produce that are sometimes harvested weeks before they arrive to your customers door.
Northern Fresh Farms controlled environment where mother nature does what WE want 365 days a year. Producing fresh, consistent, premium quality in our own backyard, right down the QEII Highway
Aside from the salad approach, there's so much to do with this large-leafed green. It's a great material to wrap ingredients, like seasoned beef, chicken salad, pulled pork, taco fixings, or even a hamburger. It's also great in sandwiches — stacking them will give a sandwich food a satisfying green crunch without overpowering other ingredients.

Storage
Keep the roots attached to the lettuce until you're ready to use it. If using half a head, cut off what you need and keep the rest intact. When storing in the fridge, wrap a damp paper towel around the leaves and place in an aerated plastic bag in the crisper drawer. It's best not to wash the lettuce until you want to use it, as over-handling can bruise the leaves.
