<h2>Want Local Salad Greens? We've got them.</h2> <p align="&quot;left&quot;">This week we have local spinach from Peas On Earth for everyone. This is very special spinach and its nothing like what you get at the grocery store. Fresh harvested, crisp and full of nutrients and flavour. There are also many other options available as the local growers get production onstream for the summer, we have 24 items from our local growers this week. As the week progresses we'll say goodbye and thanks to many of our non-local producers for the summer as we focus almost exclusively on local organic food by August and September.</p> <p align="&quot;left&quot;">This has been a fantastic start to the year for us and our growers. Your support and the huge number of new members has meant we have the confidence to expand our planting and production plans to almost 10 times what they were in 2010. Wow. Thank you so much. With expanded planting we also expect expanding variety and choice. The introduction of greenhouse production from Mans Organics in Coaldale Alberta has also meant us being able to expand the shoulder season and reduce the amount of cucumber, tomato and pepper we are importing this year. We have had such a huge success with the new greenhouses that they building a new structure next week to expand production which will give us even more choice as we move into the fall. You are doing this. Thank you.</p> <p align="&quot;left&quot;">Summer is always an exciting time of year when everyone wants to get outside, get into the garden and get busy at the farmers' market. Many of our vendors sell at markets in the Edmonton area and we encourage our members to visit vendors at the markets and share their experiences. They want to hear from you and we want you to visit them.</p> <p align="&quot;left&quot;"><strong>Where you can find our growers</strong></p> <p align="&quot;left&quot;">Here is a quick chart showing what markets our major growers sell at:</p> <table cellspacing="&quot;15&quot;" cellpadding="&quot;15&quot;" align="&quot;center&quot;"> <tbody> <tr> <td valign="&quot;top&quot;"><strong>Peas on Earth Organic Garden</strong></td> <td>Old Strathcona Market, St Albert Market and Callingwood Farmers Market (Wednesdays)</td> </tr> <tr> <td valign="&quot;top&quot;"><strong>Sundog Organic Farm</strong></td> <td>City Centre Market on 104 Street</td> </tr> <tr> <td valign="&quot;top&quot;"><strong>Sunrise Gardens</strong></td> <td>Old Strathcona Market</td> </tr> <tr> <td valign="&quot;top&quot;"><strong>Halwa Farms</strong></td> <td>Pangaea Market, 104 Street and 101 Ave in Edmonton</td> </tr> <tr> <td valign="&quot;top&quot;"><strong>Just A Mere Organic Farm</strong></td> <td>"The Organic Fruit Truck" - our food truck can be found at major festivals and markets this summer</td> </tr> <tr> <td valign="&quot;top&quot;"><strong>Meadow Creek Farms</strong></td> <td>Mandy has a CSA program available in the Edmonton area</td> </tr> <tr> <td valign="&quot;top&quot;"><strong>Shady Lane Berry Farm</strong></td> <td>U-Pick available in Lac La Biche. FINALLY!</strong></p> Miranda and I feel very strongly about ensuring that everyone gets a quality product from us every time they order. We call this our 'Fair Deal' - fair for the growers, fair for us and fair for the member. We have been working very hard to bring this growth into our food family and are making good progress on cutting down the waitlist. Two new delivery vans, expanded production lines in the warehouse and several new team members have helped us to manage the growth and we are getting ahead. We plan to be caught up by the end of June and should be able to move through the summer without having to make new members wait. Many of you who have been with us since 2011 will remember we had a similar challenge in the spring of that year too. We have broken the weeks intosegments and if you look at our signup page you will see what week we are projecting your first delivery if you signup today. Our mission is to bring our food to everyone and anyone who wants it and we pledge to bring as many people on as possible. At The Organic Box we are always growing, always looking for ways to get better, and always trying to find ways to get more of your shopping basket filled by Alberta and BC food producers. We can do it! You are helping! Havea Great Week! Danny.
