A quick and nutritious breakfast is key to building a morning routine that sets you up for a great day. Smoothie bowls are the latest trend in morning meals. Part smoothie, part bowl of fruit and granola, a smoothie bowl delivers the best of both worlds and is quite lovely to look at as well. The key to a great smoothie bowl is a thick, flavourful smoothie base and a rainbow of toppings. It is a choose-your-own-adventure style meal and we just love them! Smoothie:

1 1/2 Cups frozen fruit/berries

1 banana

2 Tbsp peanut (or other nut) butter

1/2 Cup water

handful icecubes (optional)

Toppings:

Fresh fruit (berries, kiwi, bananas, citrus, grapes)

Dried fruit (cranberries, raisins, cherries, goji berries)

Seeds (pumpkin, sunflower, chia)

Nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, cashews)

Cacao nibs

Hemp hearts

Coconut

Granola

In a blender on high speed, combine the smoothie ingredients until thick and smooth. Pour into a bowl and top with your favourite blend of toppings. Enjoy!
