If you are daunted by learning how to make a pickle, it is easiest to start with a quick pickle. 1 large red onion 1 Cup apple cider vinegar &#189; Cup red wine vinegar 2 Tbsp sugar 1 tsp salt 1-2 Cups boiling water Crushed red chili flakes (optional) In a small saucepan, heat vinegars, salt and sugar until dissolved. Set aside Peel and slice the red onion and place in a colander over a similar-sized bowl. Pour boiling water over the onions and let sit for 1-2 minutes. Drain off water and pour vinegar mixture over onions.&#160; Sprinkle with chili flakes. Set in refrigerator to chill. Ready when pink all the way through.
