This is our fifth summer since we opened The Organic Box and I am blown away - this week we have 78 different local organic fruits and vegetables in our boxes for next week. Its phenomenal to see how far we have come in our city developing our capability to grow organic and finding the community of people who are looking to connect with organic farmers in Alberta and BC. We are so grateful for your support and I hope everyone will take advantage of the opportunity to fill your fridges with all these great choices. Our growers will sure appreciate the support and your family can eat heartily knowing how much you are supporting your local food economy. To explore all the options we have this week please take a look at our New This Week page on the website. Or, if you are already a member you can login to our website and view all the choices in the 'Weekly Produce Listing' category in the Organic Market. More local, more Organic, and more choices for you.
Update From Our Farm Those of you who were with us last summer will remember the enormous and super-sweet cherries we brought to Edmonton from our fruit orchard in Creston, BC. This year we again are gearing up with another amazing harvest. Cherries the size of loonie and toonie coins! We start picking our Rainiers (yellow blush) on Monday July 21 and you can expect to see them in your boxes starting the week of July 28. If we can get enough off the trees fast enough they will also be available for sale from our warehouse and online starting next Thursday July 24. Soon afterwards we will be starting on the deep red Skeena cherries in our orchard and you can look forward to their special flavour richness. We are cherry farmers and you can expect a bounty of delicious fruit in your box all through the month of August - more than you will be able to eat all by yourself! Our farm products are truly special - we pick them ourselves and drive our own truck from the Creston Valley to Edmonton directly to bring them to you. Miranda and I hope you will enjoy them again this year.
At The Organic Box we are always growing, always looking for ways to get better, and always trying to find ways to fill more of your shopping basket with Alberta and BC food products. We are growing better together!

Have a Great Week!

Danny. Founder, The Organic Box.
