Ho Ho Ho Here we go!
December arrives next week. This means both filling your fridge with goodies and making your holiday plans. We hope to help with both this year by finding and giving you more options than ever before. We've managed to snag organic eggnog, mandarin oranges and all the vegetables your holiday table could ever need. But! We want to do more. So send us your special requests, your great ideas and your 'must-have' list for your kitchen this year. We will do our best to find it and bring it to you. And like always, we will strive to find independantly produced and organic sources. Holiday Plans. We never stop delivering! This year we will be running our usual delivery schedule which means deliveries on Boxing Day, January 2 and all the days in between. We will be closed on Christmas Day and New Years Day. If you are planning a trip away this year or won't need a box during the two weeks around the holidays please let us know now by using the 'Holiday Stops' function on the member page. By taking the time now to let us know your schedule we can better plan our staffing, production and harvest plans to ensure we don't under or over-estimate these weeks. Usually we see a 30% drop in deliveries over the holidays. And don't worry, you can always change your mind right up until your order closes for the week, so let us know now and then if things change just log back in and update your schedule. We will really appreciate it. Our Mobile Site has Launched Finally after months of testing we have launched our mobile'Choose Your Box' site. Now, when you login to your order page on your mobile device you will be sent our site with larger fonts and easier navigation. If you still want to use the old site click the link at the bottom of the page. Its been a long haul to get here but have fun ordering all those awesome treats on the bus or in the bathtub. We aim to please! A New Partnership Lots of news this fall about meat safety and recall. We know that it is very difficult to find meat products that you can trust have been raised and processed safely and securely. In December we are launching a new partnerhip with Sunworks Farm in Camrose to offer their chicken and beef products to our membership, delivered with your order. Ron and Shelia are personal friends of Miranda and I and our families have lots in common. We know that giving more access to these products will help you feel better about the meat you eat and where it came from. (ONE LAST TIME) Its time for Winter Delivery Instructions I hope everyone has enjoyed the latest blast of winter, but things are only getting started. We are also in store for some crazy COLD nights. Please remember that our normal delivery hours are noon to 10pm, so if you are expecting your box and it is getting dark, please turn on your porch light for our drivers to see. If we can't see your house number or if your front steps aren't safe, we will have trouble getting your box of food to you this winter. Its also time to start thinking about winter delivery instructions. Your box won't survive in -10C weather for more than 30 minutes outside, so please start thinking about winter conditions and how you want your box delivered. Some options include:

We can put it in your garage if you have a keypad entry system.

We can leave it with a specified neighbour if you aren't home.

If you aren't home, we can bring it back to the warehouse and you can pick it up from our warehouse on Wednesday to Fridays during business hours and 9-1pm on Saturdays.

Something else creative that you can devise!

Boxes without winter delivery instructions will be left on the front step if you aren't home, so please take the time to update your instructions and let us know what you would like us to do for you. Delivery instructions can be updated by clicking the 'My Account' button on the right hand side of the Choose Your Box page. At The Organic Box we are always growing, always looking for ways to get better, and always trying to find ways to get more of your shopping basket filled by Alberta and BC food producers. We can do it! You are helping! Havea Great Week! Danny.
