Easter Treats, Spring Break, Alberta Milk

This week we continue our Easter Promotions - look in the Featured Items category on the order page for some great Easter Ideas. This week we are also featuring Sunchokes - this is a fantastic tuber and the vegetable we featured in our very first week back in 2010. Look for recipes and good info in the newsletter next week and try this awesome root in your kitchen.

Easter Weekend and Spring Break

If youare planning to jet away for Spring Break this year, don't forget to schedule your holiday stop using the delivery scheduler tool on our website.

We plan everything weeks in advance so knowing your schedule makes things easier for us and helps make sure we get the right food to Edmonton on the right days to get into your box.

We are always open and will be delivering on our normal schedule for Good Friday, and Easter Weekend. Box schedule times will be same and the order deadlines don't change.

Holy Snowstorm!

Last week we welcomed spring with the usual massive blizzard and snow challenge. I am proud of my team for pulling it together and getting all the orders delivered as the snow just kept coming. We had 32 cm of snow at our warehouse on Thursday March 21 and although our vans got stuck many many times during the day, we are grateful for the help of many good citizens who helped the drivers dig out and keep going.
OUR WAITLIST IS GROWING Miranda and I feel very strongly about ensuring that everyone gets a quality product from us every time they order. We call this our 'Fair Deal' - fair for the growers, fair for us and fair for the member. Since the new year we have been experiencing substantial growth and so we must balance serving our existing members against bringing on new families. The best way to ensure this is to manage our rate of growth using a waitlist. Many of you who have been with us since 2011 will remember we had a similar challenge in the spring of that year too. Currently we have over 100 families on our waitlist. We have broken the weeks intosegments and if you look at our signup page you will see what week we are projecting your first delivery if you signup today. Our mission is to bring our food to everyone and anyone who wants it and we pledge to bring as many people on as possible. ALBERTA ORGANIC MILK Last month we were saddened to learn that some of the organic dairy producers were withdrawing from the market in Alberta due to economic reasons. Personally, this frustrates me because Albertans drink more organic milk than we can produce in our province, but the problem is that the majority of milk consumed is being imported from British Columbia. We are proud to have two independent dairies in our product catalogue and I really encourage everyone to buy their milk from Alberta sources. You can buy from us, or check the Organic Alberta Council website for a full list of all places for you can get Alberta Organic Milk. Milk on Sale To put my money where my mouth is on our milk, this week we have reduced the price of the 4L Rock Ridge organic milk bundleto our cost. This is the week to try out some Alberta Milk and see what you've been missing. Hormone, Antibiotic, Pesticide and Additive-free, this is clean, healthy milk that is worth every penny. At The Organic Box we are always growing, always looking for ways to get better, and always trying to find ways to get more of your shopping basket filled by Alberta and BC food producers. We can do it! You are helping! Havea Great Week! Danny. Founder, The Organic Box.
FeaturedProducts

Easter is coming!
Holy Moly.
