Green Tribe is a cooperative composed of seven Chilean blueberry producers, all Certified Organic and Certified Fair Trade. The farmers came together in order to share resources including their packing and export capacity. Their farms are located in central Chile. Green Tribe is built on a foundation of trust, quality and a profound respect for the environment. They are committed to organic agricultural practices and manage their soil and water resources with great care.
In addition to receiving a Fair Trade price for their berries, Green Tribe receives additional Social Premium funds from Discovery Organics and its customers. Since the February 2010 earthquake that ravaged Chile, Green Tribe and Discovery has raised an additional $13,000 in social premiums. These funds were used to create mediaguas, temporary housing for workers whose homes were destroyed in the quake.
